Three weeks into new job - is Good! I still cannot qwuite believe that i found someone to pay me for playing Princesses, painting (including Foot painting as well as hand painting and finger painting and sponge painting), running around chasing a ball trying to kick it (a more accurate description than "playing football", at least in my case) and reading stories with a bunch of toddlers.
YAY!
It is also kinda hard work (honest) what with the kiddies having had sucky experiences and hence frequently having behaviour problems, and with the driving all over the bloody place to do sessions at each refuge (because longer than an hour and a half is a bit much for a really focused session with a two year old - they get more out of lots of little sessions than one big one, but this means lots of travelling to see them all for two short sessions a week instead of one long one each). On monday i am doing an all day training on domestic violence. I will be taknig cake for the lunch break, as I think it will be required.
The kitties are still fluffly. Just so you know. They also puke more than any other animals I have met. But hey ho. We recently bought a new vacuum cleaner, with a turbo head for deep cleaning the carpet and it is amazing how much better it picks up the cat hair, and how good the carpet looks! YAY! (Emmy was amazed by how happy the purchase of a vacuum cleaner made me).
Not Studying is weird. Particularly as Emmy is doing her OU Science degree still (and will be for a long time yet), so she has an assignment to do this weekend, but I have no academic work to do, for about the first time since i was 12. WEIRD! (yes this has only just sunk in)
we cleared out the Tea cupboard and I had more than 67 kinds of tea and Emmy put her foot down and I accpeted that I Have A Tea Problem. I am now not allowed to buy new tea without finishing up one kind of old tea. I also cleared out some of the ones i dont really like. This was traumatic, but necessary if we wanted to fit the mugs into the cupboard.
Now - off to SNOOZLE!
