We're here... we are okay, though I am once again fighting the stupid sinus thing. I think that sinuses were not the greatest design ever... Today is not too bad though.
I have four days off. They call it Mid-Winter/President's Day break. After the snow days it all seems rather surreal.
Some of our 8th graders went on a special trip to Washington D.C. I wonder how that's going... They took a bus to the airport and then flew into DC.
We also have a group off doing Science Olympiad regionals. That group includes our friend Lynda as a chaperon. I hope that they drive very carefully and that they do as well as they usually do!
It's snowing a bit again. It was snowing hard when I got up but now it has become tiny flakes. Winter sure waited long enough to arrive. I hope it does not wait that long to LEAVE!
A pair of Cardinals were out at the feeders a bit ago. They look so beautiful against the snow... Too bad that they have to fight off an army of squirrels. I've seem up to eight squirrels at once out there lately. There was also a Blue Jay out there today. We don't see too many of those so it was nice to be looking out when one was actually there! Robert says that he hears them in the big pine out front though. We think that EVERYTHING lives in that big pine! We sure know that rabbits and birds do.
I'm baking the rest of the cookies I was going to do last weekend. The latest ones are peanut butter with excess Valentine's Day Hershey Kisses placed on top. They taste good... SOME of us might have been eating them... (that would be 2 of us)
I only have partial sense of smell but I can smell the cookies. :-)
added: Robert is out on the patio shoveling a pathway in case the pups and kids come over to visit. He thought he could just do that with a broom... quickly found out that it's way too deep for a broom to even dent it.
I forgot to write that Thursday night there was a big Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser to help to pay the bills of the daughter and son-in-law of one of our teachers. They BOTH have cancer. Their insurance won't pay for the help that they need. I was supposed to help with desserts and beverages along with Lynda G. but I was hacking so badly all day that people kept telling me to stay away from the food. My wonderful husband was more than happy to take my place! He was a food service major so that did not bother him at all. It was only for one hour anyway.
We saw ALL KINDS of people that we have not seen in ages who came to the dinner. They had a REALLY good turn-out so hopefully that will help the family a lot. I hope that someone will tell us the results.
That's it... exciting?
