durning string band's performance on youtube!
this is our performance at city hall, uploaded to youtube ... we placed 14th out of 17, which obviously isn't so good, but it's about what i expected so i'm not at all bummed about it. of course, the tv coverage missed our captain being busted out of a giant pinata (which i designed) by speedy gonzales (whose costume i made, including head, feet, and tail), but the tv coverage stinks every year. i guess they truly believe the viewing audience would rather see them zooming in for closeups than just one big overhead shot that captures *everything.* whatever. at any rate, you can see me (remember they moved my spot so i *wouldn't* be seen in case my finger wasn't healed and i couldn't play?) ... well, i'm all over tv. i know we all look alike with our moustaches (that's right, i'm wearing a moustache!), but my serape is mostly yellow, i have a bright blue sombrero, and i'm playing tenor sax. in fact, here's me and tom (yes i made him kiss me while i was wearing a moustache, haha):

some pix i took on parade day

it was a long, LONG day ... i was up for about 27 hours straight, and tom was very, very drunk by the end of it (like face-down-in-the-street-drunk), haha. wish i had time to post the stories ...
