Standing on the threshold of a New Year

Dec 31, 2011 22:26

So, I decided to please myself for a change :O) It is New Years Eve, and I am lounging on the sofa, in my pj's, with a hot cup of tea and a book at the ready. I spent this afternoon at the theatre with my niece after we managed to snag last minute £10 tickets for the last local performance of Legally Blonde -my second time, her first. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. About an hour ago I took Jasp for a long walk, and now he is flat out, and snoring, in his comfy bed. The rest of the house is partying the night away at my Uncle's house with the rest of the clan. I do not think my Mam was too chuffed with me wanting to spend New Years Eve on my own, but the peace and quiet is bliss :O) I say quiet... I am currently singing along loudly while Kylie's Aphrodite Les Folies Live plays on SkyArtsHD! One of my definite highlights of 2011. Woop for Team Staying-In ;O)

As I type, us Brits have got 1hr35 until Big Ben does his thing, so I'm off to make a fresh brew, and maybe some eggs for supper. There is no point in an early night, because my phone is going to go at least twice once the bells are ringing. My Uncle M has already text to tell me I had the right idea to give the party a miss :Op If you're celebrating the New Year, wherever you are, stay safe and enjoy. 2011 had some awesome moments, but mostly sucked big style; far too many family and friends ending up in hospital for my liking :O( Fingers crossed 2012 is a much better one for all of us. Wishing huge amounts of love, luck, and happiness to all. Much Love xx
