Two life goals met in one fell swoop. Well, the 'swoop' in question would have to be this post, as they're seperate identities on their own, connected only in that they both have taken place within the space of thirty days, or a single Earth month...
Huh. Who knew when I was excited I got verbose?
(Yes, everybody, I know.)
First off, everything is finally in place for me to meet goal #1: shelving myself at the library. No, it's not as dirty as it sounds. It's just that my menial labor as a library page will one day become wholly worthwhile if I can but a book on the shelf that happens to have my name in it. The book in question is Sword and Sorceress XXIV, which I bought for the library when it couldn't be had any other way (passive construction because we really don't know why the seller acquisitions normally acquires from didn't carry it). I daresay it still counts even if I had to use my own money to get it on the shelf, since I got in the anthology on my own, anyway. I saw it on the Stand of Honor in the New Books section last week, and yesterday it was gone. That means...somebody checked it out. And that means...somebody might be reading my story...RIGHT NOW!
And there was much rejoicing.
Second off, and boy I'm almost anxious to write it in case I jinx it...but the contract's signed, so it should be safe enough...Aqua Vitae has been accepted by WolfSinger Publications for a 2011 release. That's right. In a year or so, there is going to be A Book. With my name on it.
And there was EVEN MORE REJOICING.
