Google Alerts is an awesome thing--I can find myself online without even having to ego search. Anyway, the quote in question is
"And finally, a sale. Three Limericks (!!!) just sold to the intriguing print zine
Kaleidotrope
. Check out the current issue, with familiar names like
marshall_payne ,
bill_ward , Rachel Swirsky, Therese Arkenberg, Kristine Ong Muslim, Marcie Lynn Tentchoff, and too many others to list."
Well...I guess I do have 135 Google hits. I don't think that makes me familiar, but...
Anyway, congrats to the poster, Camille Alexa. Best of all, thanks to my flashy new Kaleidotrope subscription (Christmas gift) I can read these limericks...and who doesn't love poetry, especially that of a traditional bawdy sort?
Well, not really. Apparantly these limericks are family friendly, which is just as well, as I am, too.
In other news, the Samurai 7 stageplay film is worth every second of the three and a half hours it took to download. Granted, it's all in Japanese, and I can qualitatively number my understanding of Japanese on one hand, but it's a visual feast, and I swear the soundtrack is, if not made by Hans Zimmer, close enough that if it had sex with the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack, it would be incest.
And I just said I was family friendly...
