So, like a grandpa sitting on the back porch, I'm now shy three teeth. Nothing really much to report on that front - the extraction turned out to be pretty much as I was lead to expect and everything is now healing up nicely. Without wishing to go into too much detail, all I can say is that I'm glad they're out, and the operation (it was done in the surgery in the chair) is behind me. Onward to healing!
Elsetimes, my love and I headed up to Bendigo this weekend past. I had forgotten just how scenic a town Bendigo is. It seems to have a quaintness from the goldrush era, probably due to the majority of buildings that survive from that era in the main street, that other country towns that have become a lot more modern seem to lack (Ballarat, I'm looking at you). Of course, I'm only speaking from a purely touristy point of view, I'm sure the experience is different is you live there. We had a great time, but it was marred by the heat and humidity - 37 degrees on Sunday, and with a humidity of approximately 4000% it did nothing for comfort levels, let me tell you.
Coming back to Melbourne we decided to head down to the Brunswick city baths for a Sunday afternoon swim. I've been wanting to check out the baths since I moved to Brunswick, as they seemed steeped in history, if not kids urine. Fun times were had, especially when I managed to (accidentally, I swear!) launch 6 kickboards directly into the middle of the aquacise class that was taking place in the middle of the pool. Picture UberAnalytical and I giggling like naughty schoolchildren whilst a rather robust lady extracted a foam kickboard from the side of her head, and you're there!
This week, however, seems to have brought on a general sense of malaise, particularly towards work. I think I'm just looking forward to going on my first overseas vacation (to America) in a months time. It's six weeks off of work, which will be my biggest break away from my job since starting here six (gulp!) years ago. All I can say is, Wagons Ho!
