I just took two muscle relaxers for my persistently disturbed lumbosacral spine, so woooo-eee, I'm feelin' fine, except for the fact that I almost burned the house down last night in a fit of retardation. I left a cast iron skillet full of canola oil on a hot burner while I helped Dr. lug our new dresser into the house (the dresser, incidentally, was purchased from an Indian family and it positively REEKS of many a good curry). Kid was in the house while the pan was on fire, and I feel positively terrible and paranoid about the whole ordeal, although there is no harm done in the end. I used the experience as a means to teach my kid about fire safety, and so she spent the remainder of the evening practicing crawling around on the floor to avoid the smoke.
I go back into a lesser studio around here on the 20th to record horn parts, as well as sundry harmonica riffs, etc. I really need to finish writing these parts and transcribing them into professional musical form- you know, notes on manuscript paper and all that shit- so that these guys don't have to listen to me say, "Just play, like, doo-dee-doo-dee-doo right there in the second measure of the bridge." Professional musicians just LOVE it when you say things like that to them.
Dr. got two calls back from Seattle regarding jobs. I'm hoping, hoping, hoping.
