Dears, your mothers aren't available, and in light of all the talk today, I was just reminded of things a well bred young witch should be aware of! It's awkward to say, and I don't mean anything about anyone we know, but

I hope this isn't referring to anything in particular, Mrs. Weasley, because..erm..
Well as far as I know wizards don't rub their antlers on the bark of trees to scrub the velvet off and then go off to butt heads with other wizards. I mean, most of them don't. And I'm sure that there are perfectly reasonable solutions to all of this that don't involve..
Sex.
Even if it was all about that, which it isn't, then why is it that it never seems to work out the way that it ought to work out and it only ever works out in the most annoying and irritating way possible so that it might be all about you but it really doesn't have a damn thing to do *with* you at all?

Mrs Weasley, I'm sure you mean well, but really we have moved beyond the Nineteenth Century. A witch's most important possession is her wand, or her life or her mind or any number of things... but her reputation?
I don't think so.
I'm sure you remember all that fuss about the Daily Prophet saying that I was chasing after Harry and had a thing for powerful Wizards, and we know how much truth there turned out to be in that. People gossip, and the come up with the stupidest ideas, but that doesn't mean that they are true, or that anyone should change their behaviour because of gossip.

Hermione, dear, it's so good to hear from you!
Behavior is important, and if a certain behavior leads to the same response every time, maybe the behavior ought to be changed. I don't say that witches need to hide from wizards, but an intelligent young witch needs to take some responsibility for avoiding potential ... situations. Just because someone is not a Death Eater, does not mean that one is absolutely trustworthy in all ways.

No, Mrs Weasley, I'm sorry. If behaviour leads to jumping to the wrong conclusions, then the person who is making those assumptions needs to look at themselves.
I've avery interesting book by Germain Greer on this sort of subject you might be interested in reading.
You girls are young and inexperienced and probably not aware of the pressures faced by wizards with so many attractive young witches around. It is frustrating for them, and they can on occasion, resort to behaving like a pair of rams ...
Oh, I know. It's so much fun when they do that isn't it? Poor things can't seem to help themselves. Hahahaaa, and that is exactly the problem.
Your reputation is the most valuable thing you have, and you do need to be careful.
Ohh yes.. Yes, I couldn't agree more. It is very important to get yourself a nice little reputation.
Remember girlies, being GOOD gets you nowhere.
As proof, just take a look at the lovely Mrs Weasley.
Molly darling, loosen up and live a little. Arthur might enjoy it.
Bella, dear, you have no idea of what Arthur and I enjoy, since we have some sense of what belongs in the public eye or not!
I do understand that you might be feeling just the least bit...erm... shall we say "needy"? with Rudolphus gone and all. I know that at our age, one's needs are much stronger than they were when we were young.
And where do you think Bella goes when she's needy? Oh god, please let me be able to obliviate that thought from my mind.
It's a book about muggle women and their place in society - it says that they are as good as men, and should be treated equally. Sometimes I'm not sure the Wizarding World has quite caught up with that concept.
Considering the conversants, I'm afraid it could get a lot stranger.
No, of course not. Because once you start asking those kind of questions where do you stop? What about the equality of house elves and centaurs and giants and goblins and mer-people and werewolves and people who weren't born to witches and wizards? What about the animals whose bits and pieces are used in potions and medications? What about the fairies used as lights, or the unicorns whose tail hairs are wand cores?
Once you start taking bits away to see what's underneath there are always more bits to see and take away. So, no. Witches are silly and simple and you really can't teach them *complicated* magic because their brains overheat, poor things.
Exactly. There's many a time I've felt my brains go all melty in the middle of a lesson and I have to wait until it cools down again by thinking of things like what colour lipstick goes with my nail varnish, and whether the lead singer of the Weird Sisters is more attractive than the bass player.
It's not as if I'm actually any good at this magic business, or even thinking. No, not at all.

If I had, I wouldn't be friends with Harry now.

At some point, you must look at behavior and not what people say about themselves. They call it evidence.
