Tonight we're playing a Beethoven Triple Concerto and Neilsen's "The Inextinguishable", which, if nothing else, is very loud.
After the dress rehearsal yesterday, me and one of the bassoon players stopped at the bar. One of the bar guys overheard us talking about Beethoven and mentioned that he liked Vivaldi. I went out to the car and got one of the tickets I was planning to give to a buddy (luckily I hadn't told the buddy yet) and gave it to the guy. He seemed genuinely moved. "You're *giving* this to me?" I told him it was kind of like how the first hit of crack is free. He gave us his word that he'll be there tonight, and I think that's pretty cool.
