Going Underground

“I'd like to wish you the best in your future career, but I doubt you'll live long enough to have one.”- The Marquis De Carabas - 'Neverwhere'

In 2005 it came for them... A virus that would leave 99% of the planet's population dead. For those who lived, it became survival of the fittest...

After a savage virus ravaged the earth, only the strong survived. Yet those that did survive found themselves changing and exhibiting traits they didn't have when the world was ... normal. In essence, the remaining people of planet earth became mutants - the scaled, the hairy and the blood thirsty.

Many moved underground, away from the damaged and scorched earth, taking refuge in the sewers and tunnels beneath the world's cities. There they found sanctity from the soldiers that were trying to wipe them out in order to cleanse the streets ready for resettlement.

One such settlement is in the London Underground. The survivors travel by any means possible to live there. Some have come from overseas, travelling on old ships. The old Tube stations have been transformed into dormitories or businesses and the vast network of tunnels, bunkers and stations gives the inhabitants ample room to hide from those that want to wipe them out.

One business that has settled in the abandoned metro system is Moonlight's Bar. Settled in the station that calls itself Leicester Square, it's the first point of call for any new arrival, be they friend or foe.

But it's not just the military that the inhabitants have to worry about. There's also an unseen Mayor who rules the above ground with an iron fist and the evil Eric Oppenheimer whose need to find a cure pushes him to experiment on the mutants. Some of the survivors aren't all they cracked up to be either...

Going Underground is a celebrity AU role-playing game based in and around a post-apocalyptic London Underground. Those monsters that go bump in the night are played by you. Your character, whomever you chose, can take on any form you can imagine. Perhaps the virus turned their skin to scales, made them telepathic or even gave them the ability to become invisible. Or perhaps they're part of the military, a soldier ordered to kill or capture mutants on sight. Maybe they work for the Mayor or for Eric. This is a world of endless possibilities.
