Parakarry sat up. The last he remembered was being engulfed by darkness.
He could see a black starless sky, shrouded by trees.
"Hello?" he called out. "Is anyone here?"
Flowers sprouted beneath him, all with twisted smiles. "I hate them. I hate them all," they taunted. He flew as fast as he could. He just wanted to leave so badly.
He stopped when he saw what looked like what he believed was a bush of smiling flowers wearing a blue cap in the distance.
His heart raced. "That belongs to...Goombario! Goombario are you here!?" he screamed.
Parakarry. Paraparapararara. His voice bought prickly needles, not enough to hurt, but enough to become uncomfortable.
Goombario just curled into a ball. More mockery and abuse and truth? He didn't look forward to that. No, he was going to stay very still and pretend to not be there, because if he tried hard enough maybe he could fool himself and everyone else into believing he just wasn't.
"Goombario?" he knelt down to a bunch of flowers wrapped around something.
Each of the flowers looked at Parakarry with menacing smiles on their face. Thick vines coiled all over something that he couldn't make out but Parakarry thought he saw a smile hidden beneath the leaves and blossoms.
Parakarry reached his hand out only to recoil when one of the flowers tried to bite him.
"Maybe. Why do you care?" Goombario didn't look up, even though, bit by bit, he too started to see the vines and thorns around himself. "You can't take back what you said. You don't want to be near me and I'm only alive because everyone was holding my hand. You said that and you meant that. Go away."
How unfortunate that Parakarry had had a hallucination about Bow accusing him of saying similar things.
"What?" Parakarry stared in disbelief. "I could never say any of those things about you!"
First Bow, now Goombario. Parakarry didn't understand where any of them got the idea that he despised any of them.
"I have to get you out of here." Parakarry reached into the vines. He cringed as they wrapped around his arms but he was determined to free Goombario. "Take my hand."
"Shut up. If you're all gonna get up in my face about pretending everything's okay, you can't go back and do the same!"
Goombario did not reach up, but he did put an arm over his head defensively, inadvertently putting it within reach. The vines grew progressively thornier, though, and they snagged and scratched them both.
Parakarry winced in pain. The thorns pricked his fingers and dug into his skin as his hands delved in deeper into the maze of vines.
"All right, I agree then. Everything is not okay!?" Parakarry admitted in an irritated voice. "We're stuck in a forest, the plants are trying to kill you and my friends are one by one accusing me of hating them."
Goombario raised his hand to try and yank away some of the vines, just to get a better look at Parakarry. If his hand was grabbed now, however, he'd pull back, although it would appear the flora was doing this, trying to drag him in deeper.
((Wanna have one or both of them get knocked on the head once he's "pulled out"? Unless you've got an idea.))
"Maybe." For a few seconds, however, it seemed Parakarry would not be able to pull him out.
During this conversation, Goombario had not noticed the fireworks still going off, until three consecutive ones went off practically overhead. This was enough of a distraction for him to suddenly stop resisting.
He took a deep breath. With a grunt, Parakarry pulled with all of his might. The force caused him to roll backwards. His backside hit the ground with a thump.
Goombario didn't react in time to catch himself, still dazed from the fireworks. He ended up slamming into Parakarry headfirst, and for a bit, he seemed even more stunned, now on all fours.

he was here he was here. Goombario wasn't quite sure what to do; not existing didn't seem to be panning out. So, he went with anger.
Underneath all the flora, someone spoke. "What, back for more? Haven't you done enough damage!?"
A few flowers -- not that Goombario saw them -- now rose on their long stems, hissing like snakes.

"Goombario? Is that you?!" He wanted to get closer but the stems struck at him, hissing furiously at him. They prevented him from getting nearer.

"No! I...I mean yes, I...I don't...I DON'T KNOW ANYMORE!"
Parakarry's mind was going in circles. He didn't know what the situation was anymore.
"Look, can we please talk about this after wards?" he pleaded while he pulled on what he believed was Goombario's hand.
