8:52 PM 12/17/07 · This came up kinda recently and as it pertains to the main event, XMAS day and possibly a movie of some sort coming out, I thought I'd clear this up now. As I run a tonnage of fan related communities, which if you were unaware of this fact you've not been paying attention to the user info page, there's often a concern regarding spoilers for upcoming events. The biggie this time around is AvP: Requiem which will be arriving just a little bit after Santa's made his rounds. To avoid anyone, so far as I can influence, ruining it for anybody else that's not had the opportunity to get in on this as soon as they did...

...I'll just do what I usually do.

So far as these communities are concerned, restrict any thoughts, spoilers, ideas, or anything relating therein to this post. Comment to it as much as you like in as much detail as you like. Personally, you can't ruin the movie for me cuz I know what's going to happen. Not necessarily all the details but the basics: aliens & predators killing each other, humans getting caught in the crossfire, government conspiracies, people dying, acid burnining, yadda yadda yadda.

Also, just to be on the safe side, I won't check my email till after I see the movie. Maybe. Depends on my mood. Either way, I'm not seeing it until the following Friday or Saturday.

You may post out in the open in as much detail as you choose to in your own journals. I don't have a lot of influence there, obviously, and if anyone in the community decides to ruin it for themselves by looking at the community's friendslist...oh well. Mostly I'm just trying to keep the damage to a minimum here.

I'm actually looking forward to the commentary to this post on the movie's content and whatever debates/squabbles erupt. Can't say there won't be...as just about any conversation on any fandom between myself,
Brand, &
Theide clearly evidences a strong desire to argue every teeny tiny little detail out until it's been blown way out of proportion clearly shows.

You can make your own posts on AvP: Requiem here in a week or two. Give it time to play out. With the possible exception of anyone wanting to post images from the movie, behind de evil LJ·cut, I'll allow. Mostly icon stuff I'd expect at first.

Not too worried. Most folks are pretty good about following these simple guidelines.

communities, avp, santa, brand, theide, spoilers
