Okay, so Green Lantern came out today and I'll probably see it Monday or something like that. Even though the usual suspects are giving it crappy reviews...they give a lot of stuff I like crappy reviews.
That may speak more to me then them, I dunno.
Most folks don't seem to watch TV anymore. They go for the advertisement free online methods to view their programs and whatnot. That said, many probably haven't seen a commercial for Reese's Peanut Butter Cups where it's suggested with a GL ring you could make an unlimited number of the things to enjoy.
Not so much.
Even with movies I love, I nitpick the canon details...or any details that don't quite grok. This drives some folks I know batty, whereas others love to do it too. It's fun top nitpick in groups. Regardless, that commercial reminded me of something I've seen in the trailer that doesn't is a bit off.
A scene where Hal makes a flamethrower that shoots actual fire instead of green fire.
Realistically, insofar as the comics canon goes, the rings can create anything the wielder imagines...but not permanently or make them real. It's said that takes an unbelievable amount of concentration, power, and experience to actually make REAL things. Film being what it is, Hal's first time with the ring, not likely.
It's a little thing...but then that's nitpicking.
