1:57 PM 8/28/10 · I'm currently watching a marathon of Stan Lee's Superhumans and I find the intro to the series interesting. It includes characters that Stan Lee is responsible for bringing into being: Spidey, Fantastic Four, Hulk. All of these are people who have gained their powers and abilities from radiation exposure.
I find this interesting because none of them are mutants. Some of Marvel Comics' most popular characters are the X-Men related ones. Why this is interesting to me is that the superhumans investigated on this show are all people who have, essentially, naturally developed these abilities.
When I say 'naturally developed' I mean they've been born a little different. Like this one guy who can imitate the sounds of any musical instrument with his voice, the muscles of his throat and his voicebox are extremely unusual. Another man who can run nonstop for literally days without getting tired because his body doesn't generate the lactic acids a normal person gets that tires them out. A guy who breaks things over his head as he believes his head is unbreakable and test show his skull is more than twice as thick as a normal humans'.
All of these people were born a little different.
Mutants.
So why no mention of mutants in the intro to the show?
