And I love you and your comments and your just wonderfulness that is you. and feel free to repeat it all back to me, it makes me feel all special :D And I'm so glad that this worked for you and that it had that combination of these two different people who are very different (and very the same but not) and somehow becoming a family. Becoming each other's everything because that's what the situation calls for.

Besides its totally true. Look at the show, people (understandably) hate Katherine for a lot of things she's done by manipulating and using them, but I think they hate her the most when she tells the truth. Its the truth that they can't take from her, because Katherine is just supposed to be an illusion, she's not supposed to love anyone but herself, she's not supposed to be truthful. But Elena's good at reading people and by that point in the story, she can see Katherine much more clearly for who she is and not for who people have decided she is. (Just like they had decided for her.)
