I'm finding a downside to working in a small company and having a broad set of skills and knowledge... Once people that find out; everyone in the company starts coming to you for help on things. Lately I been finding myself sending more time helping everyone with their projects and less time on my own duties. It's not something as simple as me turning people away either. A lot of the people coming to me were referred by the President/owner himself. I can't just say no to something like that.... Oh well I shouldn't really complain. 3 people got let go at the beginning of the week due to changes in performance efficiency. Or as we call it "Lean Improvements" since we practice Toyota's Lean Manufacturing philosophy. In the end I'm the new kid on the block and I still have a job I'll continue helping out where ever I can and do it with a smile! Rock On!
I feel a bit like the walking dead in the office today. That might be, because I was up late last night watching all of "High School of the Dead" on Blu-ray. You'd think with the name "High School of the Dead" you be in for a low budget B-grade show. That couldn't be farther from the truth with this show! The premise is simple enough, a zombie outbreak infects a high school and a small ragtag of high school students plus the school nurse and later a little girl fight to stay alive against a majority of the zombiefied student body and teachers. Soon the setting leaves the school and our heroes have to roam the mean zombie infested street of Tokyo in search of there families, in a military grade Hummer no less! Now I know what your thinking this still sounds like a low budget B-grade anime. Well for one the art and animation is some of the best I've seen since Garden of Sinners, but what makes this show truly shine is its timing and execution with the scenes. Transitioning and balancing between action, drama, and comedy is an incredibly difficult thing to do, if done poorly everything just comes off as awkward and hammy. This show does it flawlessly, minus some over-the-top action scenes. All-in-all I was blown away "High School of the Dead" and I recommend it to anyone looking for a high grade action series or a zombie fan in general. That's all for me!
Peace!
