Hotel California
So I am back in Stockton, will be here all next week too.
Monday and Tuesday consisted of setting PDBs in the wells for sampling two weeks from now. Normally it would take one day with a field partner but he was pulled off for some engineering work. I am OK with that. Tuesday night we have a specialist come and develop the wells that were installed last week. He can't start until 6pm because it would impact business. This is also OK.
What isn't OK is that I have to sit with him and sample after he finishes. This means I had to work Tuesday day then Tuesday night. We worked until 2am and were both falling asleep. So I called it a night, we were only 1/2 way done. We wanted to finish so we wouldn't be working tonight (the night of Thanksgiving) but there is only so much a person can do.
Now I am waiting for 6pm to start work, I think we'll finish around the same time then I can drive back home, get some sleep and celebrate turkey day with my mother.
I will have to baby sit the samples we take all weekend because no lab will be open tomorrow. This is somewhat ok but I just think that we could have done all this another week. Like next week while I am putting in the 22 new wells this guy could be developing. Then following us afterwards and developing the new wells as I go.
Well I am not in charge and was told to "make it work". Talk about insulting, I say this isn't ideal and am told to "Make it work!" I try to be accomidating and my boss is pissed at these guys for making me work tonight. What was I suppose to say.
"Oh no, your plans are inconvenient I will stop the project."
So I went out and bought Rock Band and will see if I can hack the drums while my roommates play guitar.
Trying to not take it personally nor get excited.
