As I mentioned in my
last post, Blink 182 is coming to town in a few weeks, and I've been trying to get some people to go to the show with me.
On Thursday, I called up several of my friends, and was like "Hey, want to see Blink 182 in a few weeks? ....for a DOLLAR!!!" Of course, they were all like "YES, WE ALL DO!", but then when I told them I was going to wait outside at 4:00 AM on Saturday, they all of a sudden had plans. WHO HAS PLANS AT 4:00 AM ON A SATURDAY, I ASK YOU??
NOBODY DOES! So I was moderately pissed. Moderately because I could still get the tickets and was drinking a delicious slurpee I just got at 7 Eleven, but pissed because I still didn't have anyone to get tickets with me. I wasn't too excited about going to wait by myself, but if that's what I had to do for $1 Blink tickets, then I wasn't about to let my idiot "friends" stop me.
Then on friday,
Becca contacted me and told me that she might want to wait for tickets with me! This was aweome - not only could I get tickets for the show, but I didn't have to wait 6 hours in the cold by myself! So we worked it out, and I ended up spending the rest of the evening at Anne's house. Becca picked me up at like 3:30, and we drove out to DC. Driving at night is awesome, cause not only are there no people on the road, but since you're constantly falling asleep, every minute is an adventure! Becca turned on the radio, and we started singing so we would stay awake.
We got there at about 4:30 and I jumped out of the car so I could get in line while Becca parked. The people at the end of the line told me I had to go to the front and sign in, so I went up there, found the guy with the clipboard, and signed my and Becca's names. He was like "Whoa, you can't sign someone else's name!" So I told him that Becca was just about to be there and that it was ok.
I was like "She's going to be right here, moron. Calm down." He then tried to argue with me.
"No," he said, "You can't sign someone else's name!"
"I just did. She's coming right now. Put your tampon back in."
He was like "Dude, she has to be here in person."
I told him, "Look, she will be here if you wait 1 minute... Uhh... Sign them in," and I pointed to some teenage girls who were walking over to sign in. Then I turned around and saw Becca walking up the sidewalk. I was like "This is her." He looked at us, mumbled something, and wrote "96" on my hand and "97" on Becca's. I looked at my hand and wondered why he had underlined "96." Hmm... He told us to be back there at 5:30 for the next check-in, so instead of sitting on the pavement, we went back to Becca's car and fell asleep =)
We woke up again at about 5:30 and went back for the check-in. We (Becca) had brought a sleeping bag and a few extra jackets, but even with those, it was FREEZING! We sat down and talked to some people for a while, and the time went pretty fast. The girl next to Becca started smoking weed with a guy dressed like a cowboy, and the girl next to me started talking about different guys who have stalked her, so we decided to go to McDonald's for a little breakfast time. Becca bought me a delicious Egg McMuffin and some coffee, and we went back and talked for a while. We must have been talking for a couple hours, cause before I knew it, the sun was up.
At around 9:00, we moved up in the line, so we could be with people who had numbers like ours, which was cool cause we were closer to the window, but kinda sucked cause I wasn't better than everyone anymore. Except Becca =)
We ended up standing with the same three girls who were there when I signed in at 4:30, and got to talking. They saw that I had a camera phone and, of course, wanted a picture, so I was like "Ok, fine." They got together, I took a quick picture, and one of them gave me her email address so I had a place to send it. Then I named the picture "Sluts" and sent it to her! I looked at her and started laughing like this: "Heh... heh... heh..." No one knew what I was laughing about except me. It was hilarious!
A little while later, a huge tour bus pulled up and people started unloading sound equipment. I was like "I wish I had a bus like that!" Becca looked at me and said, "To have a bus like that, you have to actually have talent." I was like "That is not true! John Madden has a bus!"
I laughed pretty hard, but I think I was the only one, except for this guy who was 5 people behind us. He was like "HA HA!"
Finally, it was 10:00, and we got up to the window and paid for our tickets. In order to get back to the car, we had to pass the rest of the line, and as we walked by, I turned to Becca and said, very loudly, "I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY'RE SOLD OUT! We waited 6 hours in the cold and they're OUT!?? LET'S ALL GO HOME!" People started looking at each other and talking worriedly. It was great! Then Becca had to go and ruin it by laughing really loud, so I decided that we should make our way to the car as fast as we could to avoid the imminent ass-kicking that was waiting for us back at the line.
When I got home about 4:30 that day, I fell asleep. I woke up today at 9. That's crazy. I'm so exhausted that I'm going back to sleep soon.
Oh, and before I forget, Thanks a lot, Becca! =D
It was fun! Now I sleep.
