For the first time in 8 years, there will be 2 NFL games on Monday night. Not since the 1997 World Series was extended for a 7th game at Pro Player Stadium in Miami (which pushed the Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins to Monday night) has it happened. The New Orleans Saints will be playing their first "home" game against the New York Giants on Sept 18th at Giants Stadium. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 ET/4:30 PT, with the regularly scheduled Dallas Cowboys @ Washington Redskins matchup beginning at the usual 9 ET/6 PT time. This is the second straight year a hurricane has moved games. Last year, the Florida Marlins and Montreal Expos had to play 2 games at US Cellular Field in Chicago due to hurricanes. Also, hurricanes pushed back the start time of a Pittsburgh Steelers and Miami Dolphins matchup from 1 pm ET to 8 pm ET.
A portion of the gate sales from the Saints-Giants game will be donated to help victims of Hurricane Katrina.
And please, donate something. Whether it be money, blood, cash, food, clothes, etc. They need us.
