In a moment of madness, that just seems not to end, (mostly as I can not get the picture idea out of my head!) - Janus and I were discussing WotW (War of the Worlds, original, not that god-awful remake rubbish!) - and pondering what it'd be like as the characters from the Jeff Wayne's musical version, as furries. Furries? Thats right - furries :P Well, this idea struck me like a thunderbolt, and now, it just won't go away and leave me be. Idea was, for an anthropomorphic grey wolf, his robes torn and dusty, clutching a battered bible in one paw, as he screams defiance at a martian tripod standing nearby (yes, the scale is way out - but allow me to continue here!) - at his feet lays the lifeless form of a young female collie (thank you Janus, for this character idea), who was his wife and has been killed by these invaders. Now, the wolf is irrational and his eyes show the madness that now consumes him. He has torn the 'dog collar' from his throat and heaved it to the ground, as he stands defiantly, his beloved at his footpaws, as the martian tripod looks down impassively, almost incredulously, as he screams his defiance at them for what they had done.
I know, I've lost it and gone completely around the twist, but its a mental image it just won't leave me be. I truly wish I could sketch this image out, as I think it'd look great - alas, I can not draw a straight line, let alone something like this...ah well :)
