Zarsheiy: Stick up!

Jun 23, 2008 09:18

First of all, this bed is not soft. And it's small. I mean, I have to sleep the long way in it and I can't spread out or anything. Back in Brill Audre had a room with a big bed. Proper sized for lounging. The pillows here are not as soft, either. It does have a chair for Audre, so that's good.

We were out riding around a day or so ago and stopped at a campfire. This was at the Sun Rock Retreat. Now there is a nice place to stay. The beds looked huge, and one room even had a bathtub right in the room! Now that would be the thing! I would lounge in the tub, maybe buy some oils or soap, then sprawl out in on of those tauren sized beds. The air isn't sticky there either - so I wouldn't wake up with my clothes plastered to me. They have nice big chairs in the rooms for Audre, too. Maybe I'll mention that to her tomorrow. I wonder if she takes baths?

Anyway, after we left the campfire we stopped in a little village and she said she had an idea. She always has ideas. She said the people at the fire were talking about how thinly things were stretched and how it was an opportunity. All I know is I'm tired of winking at orcs to get a few more pieces of silver out in that gods forsaken desert place. The Badlands - that's an understatement. They didn't even have proper sheets on the beds, not that you needed them what with the heat. Dry heat - ha ha. So's a clay oven, not that I would ever use of of those.

So I get to play the fainting maid, and we lure a traveling salesman off the road and relieve him of some of his stuff. No one gets hurt, save for a clonk on the head apparently. I guess that in kind of inevitable. But no killing. Audre was adamant about that. She must have said it a thousand times. "No killing, no killing." Like I want to kill them. I just want nice stuff. Like new a new dress. Or silk pajamas. With lace. And frills. And little flowers sewn on the bottoms.

The troll guy seemed nice enough, and we really only took a few things. Audre bandaged his head. I'm wondering if maybe next time we can figure a way to not even clonk them. It's a little risky. This first time Audre needed to hit him twice - and I had to freeze him in place. I heard about some sort of spell that I might have to try and learn. Polycraft, or some such thing. Might make things easier. It's that or more bandages. Or maybe ropes. We could tie them up.

So I grabbed some bolts of silk, some necklaces and three gem stones. I'm going to find a seamstress as soon as I can. The silk is a pretty lavender color. I don't know what Audre got. We are going to pour it all out and look through it later. I wonder if I'll have to share the silk with her.

Maybe she will want silky pj's too?
