During lunch today, one of my classmates Cole mentioned Jesco White. And everyone started laughing. Having never heard of Jesco White, I asked what in the world they were talking about, and Cole proceeded to get on YouTube and show me who Jesco White is. For those of you who don't know about The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia:

Don't get me wrong: Welfare is there for a reason, and if you need it, there's no shame in taking it. It has a noble purpose, and isn't there to be abused. But I know people who have children because they'll get a bigger Welfare check. And I went to school with some kids who have been brought into the world this way and cannot wait to get out.
THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS! While I understand and appreciate the welfare system, I honestly wish there was a way to stop people from abusing it. I grew up in an area where most people did abuse welfare, and it was difficult to deal with when my mother was struggling to raise both myself and my sister working 3 jobs because she knew that she didn't want to relay on welfare for too long.

I'm not able to watch the first video, but oh god does my head ever hurt after watching the last two. Actually, I should probably be thankful that I can't after those two. DX

Oh, god yes, be glad you can't watch the first one. I just...ugh. West Virginia already has a horrible reputation, and it's people like this--like the Whites and like the people who are (let's be honest here) exploiting them--that make it worse. If you have to watch movie about WV, watch We Are Marshall or The Mothman Prophecies. -_-"
