R.I.P. my little Journey
My little abandoned kitten that I was nursing these past two weeks passed away yesterday afternoon at around 2p.m. I am tentatively of the thought that the cause of his sudden illness was feline parvo, Feline Panleukopenia, symptoms of which (diarrhea, lethargy, loss of appetite, swollen abdomen/sphincter and seizures) he did not show any signs of until around four hours prior to his death, and by then there was nothing that we could do.
I sincerely hope that at the end he knew that he was loved, greatly and truly, with all my heart. And that he felt no pain nor fear, I hope that he knew that I was with him right up until the end.
I wish I would have had the foresight to ask permission from my work place to get him vaccinated, though I know that if this virus truly is the cause he already had it by the time he was brought into our shelter. Please if any of you have cats or dogs, whether they are young or old, please get them vaccinated against this horrible disease and keep up with those vaccinations.
No one should feel such heartbreak from something that is 100% perventable.
