So, I had an interesting encounter today --- and it makes me wish this was one of those times that people could watch themselves behave in that particular way, just to see what an ass their making themselves out to be. Anyhow, this woman walks into the store and this is the first thing she says:
Woman: Oh my god....religious books?!?! (like she's totally shocked)
Instead of turning and leaving, she keeps walking around. As she nears the till area (where I'm standing), she starts making stupid comments & making big, overly dramatic sighs:
"What am I doing in here?"
"What is this supposed to be? The letter "t"? (in reference to our cross pendants. She was obviously being a total idiot.)
"I can't believe I'm in a religious store. This is stupid."
When she made the comment about the cross pendant being the letter "t" she made eye contact with me. The look on her face was so easy to read because it wore a smirk--- she was wanting a reaction from me. I simply smiled at her and continued on with my work. She finally huffed her way out of the store not long afterwards.
I just find it amusing that people do that. First of all, I didn't force her into the store, and I certainly didn't see a gun to her head as she was walking around. And second? I DON'T CARE. So what if you're not "religious?" I really, really don't care. This is a job, lady....so if you expect me to get all offended and engage you in an apologetics debate, then you are greatly mistaken.
Don't like what the store has to offer? Well, you know where the door is because you obviously passed it on your way in. Stupid comments and highly audible sighs only make me want to laugh at you.
On another note, here's a cute & funny video that you're sure to enjoy:
