The strangest thing happened to me today.
I was behind the counter at subway. Counting away the minutes until the end of my friday afternoon shift. Suddenly out of nowhere a horde of people ran into the building. There were cameras pointed at my face, microphones surrounded me and people started yelling questions while photographer-flashes strobed.
It took me a while to awaken from my work-stupor and register what was happening. The puzzlement froze me for a few seconds. Then I recognised one of the faces of the interviewers. It was The Chaser people descending upon us. They hurled random questions at me about subway's freshness, about the war in the middle east and what subway was doing about it and whether I prefered coke or pepsi. I just kinda laughed my way through it and answered as best I could, tried to crack a few jokes. Though being completely overwhelmed just kinda looked like an ass. They throttled me for a few minutes, then thanked me for being a good sport and shook my hand. Asked me if I knew who they were and if I minded them using the footage. Something to do with a new subway add depicting people who work there as good speech makers/politicians or something. I haven't actually seen the add so I'm not exactly sure what I was supposed to be doing. Rest assured that if it does end up on TV you can all see me making an ass of myself. Most amusing I'm sure.

Tonight I lost my Hellfire cherry. It was a good night, saw some interestingly debaucherous activities. Left early though. Partially for want of bed and partially due to the restricting leather pants I was wearing. Mental Note: Comfort before aesthetics, always.

In other news my alcohol consumption has increased dramatically over the last fortnight. Mainly thanks to random partying and being wined and dined by Warren (AKA, The Keeper of the Tom.) Much of which hasn't been at my own expense which makes it all quite pleasant. It shall be an adjustment going back to uni next week.

Thursday night saw Jon, Luke and I at the Yeah Yeah Yeahs concert. It really was an awesome night, once I learned to tune out the underagers. There was a group of 15 year old girls drinking right in front of us and making out with each other, inanely squeeling "we're lesbians!" While watching everyone around to see if anyone cared. Fifteen year old girls should be shot on sight. Actually, perhaps even before then. Like swarming bees you can hear them coming before you ever catch sight of them. Being hit in the face by flailing hair annoys the hell out of me. So I just grit my teeth and tried to ignore them. After all, punching minors is a rather major faux pas.
Children at concerts remember: There is a reason we wear New Rocks. As Jon said, These boots are made for walkin'.
The concert itself was great. So full of energy. Karen O took the mike at one point and told us that she'd do something that she'd never done before and sang an acoustic version of Maps. Absolute love.
Also Nick Zinner hotness. And the guitarist from Vanshe, who opened, in very revealing Bowie-esque tights. Enough boy oggling to tide me over to Placebo.
So there's life, drifting along its merry way. It's been much more interesting taking the back seat and letting life happen to me. Only good things ahead. Clear skies, pillaging and rum.
