A four day trip to the north shore.....good for what ails you. ^^
I'm back from the most relaxing weekend I've had in about a year. There was talk of pirates, vampires, girly things, lots of wine and delicious food. The weather could not have been better if I'd hand picked every day. Every day was crisp and sunny, and the nights were a combination of starry skies and cracking thunderstorms. Thanks to
the_shepherdess for being my partner in crime. I feel new.
In between eating cheese and drinking wine, I painted on two things that I actually had no intention of painting when I sketched them. But as is typical, I cannot resist the lure of the pirates and the vampires. Heh.
The first is a portrait of
the_shepherdess' character Isaac. I still have plenty of work to do on this one, but so far, Deb seems pleased with it. ^^ And I guess I am too.
The other painting is another that I had not intended to paint. The vampires. In my estimation, this is my first perfect face...
I am quite happy so far with the results of this weekend's painting, it must have been the wine.
After this weekend, the decision has been made the the more frequent these trips, the happier both Deb and I will be.
Life is good. I came home to a sweet boy who missed me, and two dogs who could not have been happier to see me.
