I'm back from Spain. I've taken back up my job at Colde Stone for the summer; it doesn't pay the best, but the work's not too difficult and you walk away with a few dollars in tips each night.
Spain was pretty cool; nice to visit, but I'm glad to be home and able to see my Katie again :). E-mail me if you want to see photos (I seem to have trouble posting pics here); TSMOC@UAB.edu. However, I still need to write a paper before the end of June.
Ah yes. There is one thing I brought back from Spain that is particularly awesome. Damas y Caballeros, les presento: EXTREMODURO. Rock at its finest. If you're even vaguely a fan of awesome guitar riffs and overall kick-ass music, they're the group to turn to. I ended up buying a two-part "best-of" album, but it's still freakingly awesome music. Again, EXTREMODURO. Give them a listen. "Golfa", "La Vereda de la Puerta de Atrás", "Papel Secante", and of course, "Puta" are amongst my favorite songs.
Thanks to the efforts of
shinpishugisha1, the Anime Club now has a
website. A pretty boss website, if I do say so m'self.
Also, something else much more dire. It's the
"Communications Opportunity, Promotion, and Enhancement Act of 2006". So, basically, telecommunication companies are getting paid to offer certain cites faster connection speeds based on who pays them off to do so. Your ISP decides which sites you connect fastest to and all others are relegated behind them. It's not the connection speed issue that bothers me; it's the fact that big business wants to have control of the internet and that companies can buy favour from an ISP. It just doens't seem right; how does the general public benefit from this...?
So, have a great summer everybody!
