So I realized today that I haven't been on LiveJournal in a really, really long time. And I was right -- I haven't updated yet in 2008. So here are the highlights and lowlights of my year so far...
* My car died in January. The transmission on the poor Lumina crapped out.
* My wonderful mother-in-law got us a killer deal on a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan so we went home and bought it
* Tony quit his job in February
* Tony's dad, brother, and grandma came to visit us at the end of February
* Tony's step-grandpa passed away on March 17, so we were home for a week
* My boss gave us tickets to two Twins games -- opening day on March 31 against the Angels and the April 5 game against the Royals
* I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I'm now on medication and will most likely need to be for the rest of my life.
* Tony and I were trying to have a baby. But after being diagnosed as hypothyroid, we had to put babymaking on hold until my thyroid levels return to normal. Turns out an out of whack thyroid carries more risk for miscarriage or birth defects. I go back for thyroid bloodwork in May, so hopefully we'll get the green light to start trying again.
* Got our taxes done. To quote my husband, "We're not as poor as we think we are." I can't wait to get our refunds back since we have some ideas for the money -- a new couch and a flat panel TV. And, I wanna finally get my Visa paid off. I suppose saving some for having a baby would be a good idea, too.
* My brother was here this weekend. We went to see Bob Saget at the State Theater. He was freakin' hilarious! I highly recommend his show.
* Went shopping yesterday at the MOA and IKEA and Steve & Barrys and Sam's Club and WalMart and Fleet Farm
* Bought tickets for the Backstreet Boys on August 23 at the Minnesota State Fair -- row 16, seats 1-3. Alyssa and Mariya will be coming. Girls Weekend!! I can't wait!
* My mommy should be coming to visit for a whole week next month! I can't wait!
* We're planning on going home for a week in July, probably around the 4th. I can't wait!
* Oh! And finally, I still hate living in Minnesota. I want to go home.
