Okay, so today in French class Madame was gone, and our substitute was "Monsieur" Arbogast, who just so happens to be my favorite substitute EVER. I've only had him once before (besides today) and that was in seventh grade. We taught Tech ed. when Mr. Pipe was gone, and it was the best class we've ever had in that subject. He actually TAUGHT us something; this weird trick we can do with our fingers.
After we finished watching our movie, Mr. A basically let us do whatever we wanted. What HE did was talk about the war. It's hard to have a debate with him, because he's so old (or elderly, heh) that he can't hear anything you say, and the hair sprouting out of his ears like onions probably doesn't help things much, either.
He asked some of the people who had gathered around him what we thought of the war. A lot of kids answered that they didn't know, or weren't quite sure, but when it got to be my turn, I answered:
"It's an excuse to go to the Middle East so we can get oil."
His reply:
"I agree with you, young lady."
And that's when I kind of fell in love with him, in a grandchild-loves-her-grandpa kind of way.
So, I'm getting kind of curious.
How do YOU feel about the war?
Of course, I want this to remain friendly, but in the forums topics are so limited to HP that I want to see how everyone feels on politics.
Please respect each other's opinions.
I won't even friends lock this, 'cause I want everyone to have a voice.
