Being an Aunt
So far it's pretty awesome. I felt very special to have been with Giff through most of the labour.
Baby Sweets is so cute and chubby cheeked! When she's thirsty she looks like a little owl, and when she is sleepy she looks like a little pudding.
From what I can tell they have been getting lots of visitors, and I think they will head home tonight.
It was very sweet to see my lil Sister start getting teary eyed about it all. I love that Baby Sweets is named after my Grandmother and mother as well.
My mother sort of changed her name twice. But the baby has the original (shortest) name as her middle name.
I'm so proud of my beautiful older sister and very happy for her and Superlate. But also for myself, because now I get to be an aunt.
Baby was about 8 days over due and a very good size too, so she doesn't seem as small and feeble as most newborns I've seen.
This morning I have a sore throat so avoiding seeing Sweets and Giff, but I think I'll head over to their house tonight, if I feel a bit better.
I'm being good with my staying at home, and am on my second load of laundry. I may even vacuum... but don't hold your breath.
