Since last post I had a 'lame' halloween which involved a potluck dinner with friends and watching Edward Scissor hands, Hocus Pocus and Scream. I wore my Onesie and went as an 'I don't care' bear. It was very fun.
Then had a boring week at work, and hung out with Mentee for swimming on Tuesday. Was good to catch up and this reminds me that I should give her a call and see how she has been this week. I was really impressed because she managed to swim a few lengths in the deep pool with no help, and she really pushed herself to do this, with very little encouragement from me. Considering a few swims ago, she was afraid to go aqua jogging in the same pool too! Tried my active listening and I think it's getting better.
Also the bullying girl got moved to a new school because she was actually very rude to the teachers too.
Went to a gig in the bottom of the Tugboat. Quite a cool little venue.
On Saturday we had a Hen's day for one of my high school friends. We tried out Martha's Pantry and it was pretty awesome. It was one of those days which was really fun and great, although a lot of things going wrong. People forgetting what day it was on, buttons coming off a skirt, trying to organise everything smoothly, necklaces breaking, and burning hands on the hot oven trays. Things like that.
The great things were seeing high school friends all together, yummy high tea, fashion/trashy mags, make overs, visiting another party mid hen's party, playing rockband, singing loudly in the car, quizzing the bride and a toilet paper wedding dress for a girl that won't have a white wedding (as she'll be married in a brightly coloured Sari).
Coming up this weekend, is having my Sister's Baby Shower. Quite a few people are coming, and I worry that my parents' house will be too small. I'm hoping for good weather so we can use the garden too. Fingers crossed!
