(I haven't updated in forever and have nothing of great import to say, but, hey, it's an update.)
My in-laws are sometimes the funniest people in the world. They are currently about to move house, so FIL has been cleaning out his bookshelves. Every couple of weeks he mails out a list of books he has "available" in case Mr. Prof or his brother or sister want to take any of them. A few weeks ago, a book arrived unexpectedly in the mail. It was Mr. Prof's grammar book from, oh, maybe 9th grade. It was stuffed full of pieces of homework (on mimeographed paper, no less. That's museum worthy, isn't it?)
What's more amazing -- that they still had the grammar book (I'm willing to bet they've moved house at least 5 times since Mr. Prof left high school), or that they thought Mr. Prof would want it, including old quizzes?
On Saturday, we had a phone message from MIL, that went something like this: "I'm watching your (college) football team on TV, Mr. Prof, but I don't know if they are winning or losing because I'm not sure which color shirts they're wearing. I can't tell you what channel they're on either, it's channel 39 here but I don't know what that is where you are." Honestly, my MIL is a very intelligent woman, but she just wasted a phone call to say ... nothing. I guess she was lonely or something.
Me, I'm busy working (and thankful to have work) and trying to keep up with HPFanJr., who has started taking keyboard lessons and wants to try out for the basketball team.
