Last night I had the pleasure of being introduced to the music of Garnet Rogers in Pomfret, CT by Rozi and Matthew. The venue was small and intimate but we arrived early and got a seat at the second nearest table.

Shortly after his first songs he called up a woman named Jesse to help him and it turned out she proposed to her girlfriend, who accepted. Favorite quote of the night from Garnet Rogers was "Somewhere out there Mike Pence feels a disturbance in the force."

I love the houndstooth jacket and matching vest with the glasses look while playing the guitar:

There is something about that look which really works for me.

He plays the guitar with both hands by which I mean he strums both on the heart of the guitar and on the bridge. It was more readily audible on one of his guitars due to its hollow bridge construction, which he commented on, and explained why I heard it so clearly. He really does have a mastery of the instrument.

And I appreciated his incredibly down-to-earth manner, lyrics, and attitude. At over 6' tall he managed to both fill the stage and simply own his own space at the same time in a way I really appreciated.

I'm off to his website to buy his book and then his tunes and download. He's a keeper
