but the spirit was dead and no one had called

ever good
i've been thinking dangerous thoughts every night
and no one tries to stop me
I won't cry when you come around
to say goodbye forever, but I make no promises
from the driver's seat
it'll never work out
but I still write these passages for you
torn into two hearts

it was a lullabye I wanted you to sing at night
now the pages lay around my place
awaiting your voice to bring them to life
a challenge for the conscious
to distinguish between the analog and my inner monologue
I'm waiting for someone to say
hey it's alright
you can stand up after you fall down
after tonight it'll be alright
