She approaches the porch and sits beside him.]

[She hands over the bags, one of which is full of bandages and rags and the tatters of her shirt that she would love to see burned.
The other has a small maroon box with gold lettering. She vaguely hopes it looks like an afterthought.]

Hn. Maybe someone gave it to me for my birthday and I forgot. Did you dig through all the drawers in my house when I wasn't looking? [There's not even a hint of meanness in her voice, besides what is natural. She's glad of the banter, honestly. It hasn't been a good week, so far.]
