why is it that i know more about animals than people who's job it is to know about animals. from all my years of religious discovery/animal planet watching and the fact i wanted to go into big cat research instead of art, i know that tigers like to swim. i also know that they are very very large cats. so i'm thinking a 15foot moat and a 20foot high fence are not really going to hold a tiger back if that kittie wants to get out.
that's like staying in your 1 story house in a flood plain when a 30 foot storm surge is on the way. you are fucked.
also husband man, almost holder of a phd, has a BS in zoology, asked me today- 'so is like a donkey a small pony?'i asked him- 'they really don't expect you to know much about animals to award you a zoology degree do they?' seriously, it's not the first time i had to sort him out on something basic in the animal world. good thing he knows a lot about fish.
