First week of classes at CMU: Check. Now that it's Saturday, Lee was able to sit back and reflect on the past week, his joblessness, and general lack of direction as far as the world is concerned. Monday: Lunch with folks in the O, followed shortly by Intro to HCI, the course that would eventually get him into a nifty graduate program at CMU, where he wanted to be and stay, because that's where everyone he knew was, and though he was likely ready to move on to Real Life-like things, he didn't really feel like it or want to. Lee shrugged. It was nice to see everyone again, though. Fluffy had been around ever since Lee moved out of Fluffy's room and just down the street across from Muffin, and Srah was nice to see, though she had been living in his house for several days. Andrea was also fun to see, though she spent so much time at Lee's old house that he had seen a fair amount of her already...and everyone else had been around over the summer. Dammit, thought Lee. Another happy feeling of togetherness after a summer of apartness down the drain.
Lee briefly wished he had a girlfriend that had been gone all summer long so that they could have wonderful times actualizing the hearts-grown-fonder-due-to-absense principle. Then, he decided that cliches are just that, and that it didn't make that much sense to wish for things, anyway. Lee shrugged.
Working on computers, moving in. Cleaning up the new place, hanging around. Thinking about maybe getting a zephyr realm set up, once the kerberos realm was, but not actually doing that much with it. Went to a party last Sunday at Wendy's house, played some roleplaying game with Srah and Nick on Sunday, deftly preventing Srah from going bowling with Muffin and the other philosophers. Was freaked out by Srah's lack of glasses, but slowly got used to it. Played Aberrant on Thursday, which was fun - in fact, maybe it's just roleplaying that's fun. Srah's game starts tomorrow, which Lee's quite looking forward to, since the game rocked so much last year. It'll be a bit odd without Donald around, since he went off to work for Ford, the seemingly perfect job for someone who is not only a mechanical engineer, but is also Donald. Of course, playing with
noeticist,
muffinsicon,
jameel, and, um, Charlie. Lee wondered what Charlie's limegerbil name was, and then proceeded to think about other things, such as bacon, rhodedendrons, exactly why evergreens were the trees that stayed green, and whether it was appropriate to ask that question, or the question of why deciduous trees don't. All in all, a good week. Some worries still exist in life, but they aren't overly pressing, and the weather's nice lately.
