Have been feeling better the past couple of days. Work has been busy, so that's been a nice way to be productive and focus on other things.
Valentine's Day was quite nice. Scott had been working all weekend on a project, and by Sunday morning was still working, yet able to do it remotely from home. So while he worked, I was inspired to put together a big breakfast.
As I'm in the kitchen putting together a hash brown casserole, broccoli and cheese frittata, and blueberry muffins, I thought: Well, this is a lot of food, and this is likely a lot of food Scott may not even like.
Then my parents showed up at the front door! They were dropping by a Valentine's card, and wanted to know if we wanted to go out to lunch with them. So I told them they could just join us inside since there was tons of food.
Mom helped me out in the kitchen, and after about an hour, we were sitting down to hash browns, frittata, muffins, fresh pineapple, grits, and hot tea. For a little while, even Emily was able to join us.
It was incredibly comforting to see my parents, and made me feel good that I had so cathartically deep-cleaned the house the day before, and was even enjoying cooking again and feeding people.
After my parents left, Scott left the house to finish the project, but was back by early evening, and returned with beautiful roses for me. We spent the night eating pizza in bed, watching Apollo 13, and it was wonderful.
My next doctors appointment is tomorrow, and they'll just be drawing more blood to check on the beta count and make sure it's going down. Beyond that, I'm looking forward to getting out soon with my awesome friends and feeling normal again.
