And I am stretching out in my office chair with bare feet, listening to classical music, with that ginormous caramel macchiato.
As stressful as this event was, it was a huge success. The fact that CSPAN taped it was a milestone for us, and very good for me professionally speaking. Everything went smoothly, it just meant I got very very little sleep the past few days, and at this moment I am warding off a dull headache I've had all morning.
When Scott brought me home from the airport last night, we looked up the CSPAN schedule and discovered they were airing our event that hour. We stayed up and watched it, and it was pretty weird to see myself on camera as I facilitated Q&A with the audience.
I was thankful that they did not show much of me, as well that I managed to get the mic into the audience's hands so the event literally sounded smooth and coherent. Sometimes an attendee wants to ask a question, and if they're seated in a very difficult place for me to get to easily and quickly, they'll not want to stall and just start asking the question without a mic because they feel like everyone plus the speaker can hear them just fine. But when you're TAPING, especially for TELEVISION, you CANNOT ask your question without the mic!
Anyway, it's done, it's over, and I'm exhausted. My boss just arrived with some of the leftover brownies and cookies he saved. Might need one of those brownies.
