24th birthday...

Feb 10, 2009 10:01

So I'm 24, now. I like being 24. It's such a lovely even number. Weird to think I've had this very same journal since I was... 16, I think.

Yesterday morning, Scott brought me coffee and as he was leaving, he kissed me and said, "Have a terrific borthday today, and I'll see you tonight."

When I got to work, I came into my office and saw a beautiful bouquet of red roses, carnations, stargazer lilies, stock, and purple shasta daisies. Next to it was a bottle of Victoria's Secret perfume, a big pink Victoria's Secret bag, and another gift, from Betty-- a candle.

My male intern, Sagar, and Mark were standing outside my office chatting and I darted a furtive look at them as they peered in to see what I got-- "Guys, I don't know what in that Victoria's Secret bag, so you may not want to know...."  It was just bath products. :-)

After work, Scott and I met up with our parents and Emily, Jenn and James at Pappadeaux in Bedford. We had a terrific time. Dad gave me some ammo (woohoo! can't wait to go shooting again!). Scott's parents gave me gardening tools! I don't knwo the names of the tools, but I know they'll come in handy when Jenn and I get down and dirty in the backyard for our big landscaping effort. Even better, Scott's mom gave me stargazer lily bulbs to grow-- how fragrant they'll make the backyard!

Mom gave me 4 of my great great grandmother's sterling silver teaspoons. She also gave me a pillow she made with appliqued cloth photos from my high school theater/jazz choir days. It wa really cool, and I know she's been working on a quilt for me the past year and a half also comprised of my old t-shirts from choir, theater, and jazz choir. I have a sneaky feeling the pillow is the opening act for the quilt....

Fun, happy birthday. Good times.
