Number 29 in my list of
101 things in 1001 days, dramatically change my hair with either a cut or a dye. I did both!
Well I went into the hairdresser's to make an appointment and he said I could come back in an hour! I was expecting to have to come back later in the week, so that was unexpected and exciting.
I went back an hour later and had my hair cut. It was great, she took an hour to do it, I love it, and it only cost me £11.50. I went to another hairdresser's once, it took her five minutes, I was charged £17 and when I got home and looked at it, it didn't look any different...so I love MG Hair now!
We got chatting, you know how you do when you're at the hairdresser's, and naturally the conversation gets onto Ewan McGregor, you know how it does....no, just me then? *hides* Anyway, she made me laugh when she said "Actually, I can see you with him, you'd make a nice couple." Hahaha! OK, that's good, now I just need to persuade him of that.
So I know you're bored with the writing and just want to see the photos. Here's what I looked like before I had it cut, waist length, all the same length, and a mousy brown sort of a colour. Sorry about the rubbish quality, my phone doesn't like taking photos in the mirror for some reason...
Here's how it looked when she'd finished cutting it; much shorter, with a thicker fringe, feathering around the front and layers. She blow dried the fringe with a round brush, I'm not sure what I think of having all that volume in it:
Oh my god I look like the bloke out of This Is Spinal Tap! *cringe*
Not to worry, though, I've dyed it now, so it's not so much like him! And here's how it looked after I dyed it! It's very exciting for me, I've never successfully dyed my hair before as I've always had so much of it, the bottle never covers it, but it's worked out really well here! I didn't blow dry the fringe and let it dry flat, does it look better or worse? Also, I'm not sure if it's a bit too dark for my skin tone, or maybe it's just because I'm not used to it. What do you all think? Be honest! But yay, I have purple hair! :o)
And I've crossed another challenge off my list *squee*
Anyway, I've told the lady in the house that I'll definitely take it and I'm moving in on the 31st. All kinda scary, it's making the break up seem so much more real. But hey...good news is she's perfectly fine with me having a pole up *squee again* I'm all excited about that. And she's fine with me having birds, having people over to stay, she seems really easy going which is great :o) Sorry I forgot to take photos, though! So new hair, new house, new pole (once I get the £150 together...!)
