This is a public entry, it's not double locked like my last two, hence the tone will be very different.

I can't do today's NoJoMo challenge purely because I'm not American. Scabby xenophobic NoJoMo wanting us to post our favourite Thanksgiving recipe.

The other thing they suggested was to post 50 things we are grateful for. Fifty! That's going to take a while I suppose I could give it a go.

1) I have somewhere to live
2) I can afford to buy nice food
3) I have a job
4) I have both of my parents and they are still together
5) I have a sister who has given me two nieces and a nephew. Yes she did it for me.
6) I have a boyfriend who loves me.
7) I hopefully won't be affected too much by the credit crunch as I don't have any credit and don't own a house so my home won't be repossessed. The landlady seems to be doing ok as our rent didn't go up when we renewed the contract so I'm not worried about her losing the house.
8) I have lots of great friends.
9) I can walk, talk, see, hear, sing, dance. Basically, my whole body seems to be working ok.
10) I can drive and have a car and a motorbike.
11) My job lets me have enough money to spend a little on things I want and not just things I need.
12) I seem to have some semblance of artistic talent. Now I just need to figure out how to apply it.
13) I live in a country that has fresh clean water in the taps, no earthquakes, no hurricanes, very little chance of catching AIDs or being caught up in a civil war.
14) I am still fairly young and there is still time for me kick myself up the butt and get on with my career.
15) I had a decent education and can read, write, do maths and do other stuff you learn at school. Like science. And making wonky plastic CD holders.

This is really hard. I guess I've been quite broad with my thanksities. I suppose I could have said I'm thankful for my Mam, I'm thankful for my Dad, I'm thankful for my sister, I'm thankful for my TV, I'm thankful for Pete's laptop, I'm thankful for the pizza I just ate. Then I could easily get to 50.

I'm going to throw out the Secret Santa idea again. Last time it was only kewfant4ewan who was interested, but I thought maybe it was too close to Christmas for people to think about. Well now it's only five weeks so I'll post it again.

Most of my flisters are all friends with each other as you're all mainly from the Playground so I think it could work. Of course there are a few details we need to work out.

1) Should we have one big group or split the group into Europe / North America or something to save on postage costs? (Trish, I'll find a way to get you in!)

2) What maximum price should we set?

Of course if you do want to get involved, bear in mind that your name and address would have to go to a RANDOM person on the list. I will post the list of participants before allocating gift-givers / receivers so if you see someone on the list you wouldn't want having your details, you can send me a private message and I'll make sure you don't get that person.

I will also ask everyone to make a list of their interests / likes / dislikes to give people an idea of the sort of thing to buy for them.

So, leave me a note if you're interested and give me your ideas :o) *excited*

As well as Secret Santa, I'd like to send a Christmas card to you all, so if I don't already have your address please leave it in a note and I'll send you a card :o)
