I want to be a role model, you know, for kids and stuff.

So.

Joss Whedon's Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-Long Blog is up in it's entirety.

Some people are crying WiR (woman in refridgerator) syndrome.

I can see why, but at the same time I don't think it was as bad as some people seem to be taking it. Penny's death was an important plot point that I just don't see working if it had been any other character. I also don't see Penny as a 2 dimensional throw away charater either. She could have been, but when she finally started to see what a douche Cap'n Hammer really was, and snuck off the stage to get away from him.....I say it tipped her over the edge of red shirt with boobs, into real person/character territory.

The ending wouldn't have worked if Dr. Horrible wasn't broken inside. Society demands that the good guys win and the bad guys lose. While this isn't overtly the case here, it's close enough. Dr. Horrible wins, but it is a hollow victory for him. Lest we forget:Crime doesn't pay!

Penny isn't the only one who loses her power/life. Captain Hammer is also weakened, lost at the end, and Dr Horrible is a shell of his former evil. No one wins in the end. Not really.

My favourite fandoms end with everyone dies preferably while wearing funny wigs, or at least suffers unimaginably.

And thats my 2 cents.

Here's an alternate ending that also would have worked.

Here's something random, but BatgUrl may get a kick.
