It is quite possible to have cats that are completely indoor and quite happy. I have two cats in a small apartment. Loki is way captive bred: he doesn't know what outside is, and he doesn't care. The one time he got loose, all he did was go to our next two neighbors and whine for food. I sometimes take him out on a leash (he is a strange cat) and he really doesn't seem to give a fuck about ~outside~, although he does enjoy attention from people.

Persephone was feral, so she's much trickier--she is, I think, only completely domesticated with my boyfriend. However, she's also terrified of everything, and doesn't like outside, either.

Basically, get a kitty that was born inside and you should be good. :) I don't think it's cruel to keep your pet safe from traffic and, uh, everything.

And hahah, brownie in a cup. Awesome. I'm a big fan of the chocolate protein brownie, which is basically the same concept but slimified--with the protein powder subbing for the flour/providing yet more chocolate taste, and a bit of peanut butter to replace the oil. I am pretty sure that when Kane isn't around, this is nearly all Luca eats (he subs applesauce for PB to neurotically lower the fat content). SINGLE SERVING DESSERTS ARE THE BEST EVER.

And hooray for asexual awareness! I do sort of think of it as the prong of orientation that I know least about, and I think it's super cool that you're so willing to be like, hey, ask questions.

Ooh, you give me hope with your cat experience! :D I've heard some people say that they don't miss being outside if they've never known it, others saying that yes they do...seems to depend on the cat in question, at least a bit. Hmmm. And I'd still need my landlord's permission too, and then what if I have to move and I can't find somewhere that will let me have pets??? It's hard to know what to do...

Ooh, that brownie recipe sounds good - I really need to eat less unhealthy stuff - is there an actual recipe you could link me to, or is the powder just a straight substitute for the flour? I would like to try it! :D

Also: Green Hornet!!! How did I miss it?! SO AWESOME. Especially Kato - love him so much! And Britt. And Lenore. :D I want to know if there's a fandom too. I hope so! I was linked to one story on AO3 - haven't checked the tags for more yet, though... Maybe we should just CREATE a fandom. ;D

Heh, yes, asexuality is a bit unknown - I mean, I didn't know about it until last year, and I AM asexual, and it would have seriously saved a lot of heartache if I'd known it, you know, existed as an orientation - so, yes, I am all for raising awareness. So, yes, knowledge! Is a groovy thing. :)
