Sewing Challenge
Okay, so a few people on my f-list are doing NaNoWriMo. Now, I have no real desire to write a novel, and while I do have stories that need finishing, don't feel particularly inspired about doing it this month. But I like the idea of NaNoWriMo, as a bit of an inspiring thing to work at a creative project until you get it done.
And what creative project have I been putting off? Why, that would be making clothes for my naked/badly dressed dolls! :D So, in the spirit of NaNoWriMo, I will attempt, this November, to make one complete outfit for ALL my dolls who don't have one of my own. And take a photograph of each. Was going to say all my dolls I have, then realised that was a bit ambitious. The ones who have clothes already get nothing new, poor things.
Okay, here's the big list!
The Circus:
Malecant: corset, stockings, skirt/pants of some kind, top hat, possibly choker of some kind. Probably all in black and white. Need to design it properly first...
Mephisto: three piece Victorian-esque suit, top hat. Note to self: buy ridiculous black pencils with a jewel on top from work to see if he can use one as a pimp cane.
Penny Dreadful: had her sooooo long, still naked. Corset, stockings, skirt thing (that's a technical term, I'll have you know), choker.
Amity: well, she does have an outfit, but I would like to make her a more circussy outfit too, if I have time.
The Band:
All have clothes already, so they lose out here. Nothing new for them! Although Shadow is getting a new coat from Mon, which I am looking forwards to. Outsourcing FTW!
The Forest:
Murmur: some kind of epic "lord of the forest" outfit. God knows what.
The Lady; needs a name, goddamn! And also an epic forest outfit, to go with her epic hair.
Ruby: has an outfit, from Mon. But could always make another...
Ivy: I really want to make her a lolita/fairytale type outfit - but maybe it should be epic and foresty instead. Hmm.
Inkling: is currently still just a head, so doesn't get anything, unless I can afford her body this month. Will have striped stockings, a dress, and red velvet cape.
Gods and Monsters:
Mercy: a steampunk outfit. Have already made the corset and socks, needs pants and a shirt and maybe a tie. Already have goggles too! :D Some time, want to make her historical outfits too...maybe not this month, though.
Cherry: has an outfit, so she misses out too, unless I get mega-inspired, or screw up an outfit too badly to sell. :) My poor dolls and their reject clothes....
If my Chicline boy arrives this month then he'll get clothes too, but I hold no hope of that with the Fairyland wait time...
If I get REALLY inspired:
The Bathouse:
Riddler: pants, shirt, jacket, tie, epic cane. Poor thing is still naked.
Joker: has shirt, pants need fixing, needs waistcoat, tie and jacket. Or a nurse's outfit: either way.
Jokester: needs his PROPER outfit. Shirt, pants, coat, waistcoat, tie, smiley badge.
Also, need to fix Poison Ivy's leotard so it stops exposing her boobs.
AND THAT IS MY EPIC CHALLENGE TO ME. We'll see how long this inspiration lasts.... :)
