2010 resolution analysis
- Celebrate 40 in style. [X] ( and how!)
- Go to bed earlier (aim for midnight -- 2 am is too late) FAIL
- Wake up earlier so there's time for writing (aim for 6:30 or 7) FAIL
- Get more sleep FAIL
- Frame pictures/posters for hanging on wall [X]
- Go out with the Humane Society mobile adoption unit every month [X]
- Finish refinishing Steven's cabinet FAIL
- Add to emergency savings in case of layoffs [X]
- Refinance mortgage [X]
- Tackle home office, make it a proper work/writing environment FAIL
- Complete a picture book manuscript (in shape for sending out) [Needs improvement - completed a manuscript that I love but it's not in shape for sending out yet]
- Participate in NaPiBoWriWee (National Picture Book Writing Week) [X] (and completed seven manuscripts as a result!)
- Write a novel (rough first draft is okay) [Needs improvement - got started, at least]
- Send out a manuscript FAIL
- Have people over for dinner [Needs improvement - does having R. over count?]
- Go on a date [X] (understatement!)
- Do a triathlon (eating well and exercising regularly due to training is implied) FAIL
- Visit a museum and hit an exhibit (having drinks at the Getty, like I did last summer, does not count) [X] (in Boston!)
- Get a new car? [1/2 credit -- paid a broker to find a car for me but it hasn't come yet]
- Get a new computer (only if I sell something!) [X] (but I didn't sell anything!)
- Go through some of the books on my home shelves before buying more; whenever possible utilize library instead of buying books [Needs improvement - made good use of the library but I still haven't touched the books on my shelves AND I bought more]
- Don't buy anything unless I LOVE it [Needs improvement, but I do feel like I'm getting better at it]
- Clear off underused shelf in my medicine cabinet FAIL
- Iron something, organize CDs and DVDs, play with cats more and all the other things I failed to do in 2009 FAIL
Here's hoping 2011 will bring similarly great things!
