One week, one week...la la la...

*dances around*

Yes, yes, yes. Handed my notice in a couple of weeks back, and this is now the last week I have to work there. Woo and hoo! The amusing part is that I actually enjoy my job more now that I know I don't have to stay there - not enough to actually stay, mind *g* Having been doing this for almost two years though and at the risk of sounding conceited, I'd like to think I'm pretty good at what I do. A good sight better than some of the full time staff, too. So giving up the one thing I can do reasonably well to do something I have absolutely *no* idea about is going to be scary, to say the least. Still, I'm happy, I really am. It's better than being stuck here, certainly.

Friday was amusing, and fun. I made chocolate cake for everyone since Sunday was meant to be my last day (before I got even more shifts to cover -_-), which led to Helena telling me that I'll make someone a lovely wife - as she does every time I bake for them. I think she likes my cooking :) (yes Dom and Katy, it's the same recipe as the cakes I made you two) We found an adorable teddy bear in the store a while back which I kept threatening to take home with me when no one claimed him, which apparently they were going to give to me as my leaving present, except I already took him several weeks back *g* They should have been less subtle *nods* I wasn't expecting any presents, anyway. So I was totally shocked when Helena and Lizzie appeared at the end of the day with gifts for me (gorgeous notebook and stationary from H and a beautiful mug and fern plant (yay, green!) from L). They're such hearts, they really are. The mug and plant were wrapped, as per Waterstone's tradition *g*, in old campaign posters - in this case, with (quite fittingly) posters from the OotP paperback release. Pure coincidence, but I was quite amused when I noticed that.

More than anything, I think I'm going to miss my discount card. *hugs it* Approximately two weeks left with it, though one of these will be spent out of the country. I had wanted to go nuts with it in London, but it doesn't look like that will happen. Oh well...I'll have to get used to buying full price again *g*

In other news...

*I watched the Olympics closing ceremony, though I would have enjoyed it more had my mother, father and sister not argued from the moment I got home until they all went to bed. I won't bother posting about it since I predict Sam will do one of those fantastically huge-yet-enjoable review thingies he does at times like these. *coughreviewboycough* :)

*I think Chris is mad at me. I seem to be good at doing that. I wish I knew what I was doing wrong, but...*sigh* And I wish you wouldn't say you're selfish, because it simply isn't true. I can't help worrying about the people I care for. I just...worry a lot. I can't help it.

*I wish I could do more for the people I love. I feel so helpless to help myself, let alone anyone else.

*I just drank a strawberry and mango smoothie. It was delicious.

*My hot milk has got rather cold, so I'm going to heat it up again.

I think that's all. :)

*gives you a cookie for reading all this*
