50th Annual Buyoukai

Aug 18, 2009 01:18

Okay, so Micchan will be in the buyoukai again this year.    That makes for her fourth year in a row!  I'm afraid that like fine wine, the art of buyou escapes me.  It's something that I know has a lot of value, but I just don't know how to judge and appreciate everything that goes into it.  But if this is Micchan's fourth year in a row, I wonder ( Read more... )

ranju tomu, hokushou kairi, buyoukai, last play/heat on beat, casablanca, kiriya hiromu

Also, the speculation in this thread made me worried that Micchan or even Tomu would be pulled out of soragumi to be Kiriyan's nibante, maybe even before Casablanca.
aahhck! no. i want them in Sora... :(

Honestly, even I will admit I was being silly (although I suppose anything is still game for 2010).

I love tsukigumi, so it's not an entirely bad idea in my book. I'm trying to picture how Tomu would work next to Kiriyan, though. As for Micchan...it's complicated ;)

I'm new to this, so... what is a Buyoukai? I just have to ask because I have no idea. XD

It's no problem, I didn't know for a long time either ;)

The buyoukai is Takarazuka's yearly traditional Japanese dance recital. Normally when you see "Japanese dance" in Takarazuka (Sakura, Kaze no Nishikie, etc), it's not necessarily real traditional Japanese dance. (For example, they use a lot of modern instruments that you wouldn't find in authentic traditional Japanese dance). So unlike what you see during the rest of the year, the buyoukai is the real thing.

Michael's buyou in the 91st class bunkasai got really good reviews in the paper back in the day... but no bunkasai for her, even though hoshigumi got a lot of girls in. Well, it's not like it's just star-tracked people or anything like that (sure, Suzuho is on the cast list... but, meh...)

If it makes you feel any better, at least she'll get more of a chance to rest up between shows? *hug*

Hum...didn't Kaname transfer to Star happened between runs of Zorro? If they decide to transfer Micchan or Tomu to Moon between runs of Casablana, she would still be a member of Cosmos by the time of Buyokai, right? But if that happened, would they transfer someone in? I wonder who would have the star power to become nibante/sanbante of Cosmos...sounds complicated, but this is Hankyu after all.

Oh, this is definitely true. If they really wanted to they could move someone from soragumi into tsukigumi between the runs.

That being said, in my extremely selfish world, I'm planning on visiting Japan during the Takarazuka run so at least it wouldn't mess up my travel plans ^^;

Have you ever had the chance to see one of the performances? There seem to be no offical DVD releases of the buyoukai performances so far. Are they aired on Sky Stage?
