In which things are looking up...
I went to visit Grandad yesterday... he is looking tons better than he did. Since we went to visit him last week, they have started him on high protein drinks and since Wedsday he has been able to eat pureed food! This means they are no longer feeding him by a tube, which is making him feel much more comfortable and is a great sign that he is regaining control of his muscles on the side of his body damaged by the stroke. On Thursday he was diagnosed with a urinary infection, and put into a side room which did worry us a little bit. But after seeing him yesterday I am feeling so much happier about the progress he is making. Apparently the antibiotics they have put him on are in capsule form and he is able to swallow those too!
Not sure if its just the difference between visiting on a night and during the day, but he was much more awake and took a more active part in the conversation rather than just responding with a yes or no to any questions. It probably helped that I went with Mum and Dad and my mother never stops talking. When Zac and I went I really didn't know what to say!
